KB Shimmer Teal Another Tale is described on the KB Shimmer site as “dusty teal green polish with a strong pink almost duo-chrome shimmer. A color I imagine would be on a mermaid’s tail. Micro holographic glitters ad[d] a bit of shine.”Â
Teal is the color for Ovarian Cancer, which also happens to be the month of September.
If you’ve followed my blog, you know that I had a hysterectomy a month ago because everything in my female reproductive system (cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries) were screaming, “We’re about to become cancerous!!!” I was able to avoid ovarian cancer and while late, I wanted to post a teal polish to honor those who were not as fortunate.
Remember to get yourselves checked, ladies! Ovarian cancer can happen at any time in your life. Just sayin’.
I loved this color…it was teal with this gorgeous pink-y shimmer. I will be wearing this during the fall and winter months. Plus, it’s also the color of my local hockey team, the San Jose Sharks.
Application was easy – two thin coats and this bad baby was opaque. It also dried very quickly, which was surprising. However, I shouldn’t be because I’ve started to become familiar with KB Shimmer polishes and they’re all fairly quick drying. I’ve yet to be disappointed by one.
NOTE: This is a thirsty topcoat and the shimmer will be slightly lumpy. Next time I will use a coat of Gelous and then the top coat. It is also dries slightly matte. It’s great on its own or with a top coat – totally up to you.
As always, please click on the image which will double in size…then click on the image again (it will triple in size!) to view the photo in its original size.
Though you can’t see it, I left the pointer finger plain and no high gloss topcoat.
What do you think? Will you be purchasing this color?
Someone asked me why I don’t use a light box – I’ll be honest: I don’t think light boxes truly reflect what a color is like in real life. While I think a light box can get you prettier, edgier shots of a polish, I don’t think it’s very realistic. So while my images may not be as richly saturated with jewel tones or deep hues, you are getting a real-life look at the polish in action.
Thank you for making it this far. If you liked what you read, please share this – sharing is caring!
