Why? Because this collection had my head exploding when I received it. Darling Diva Polish Queen Collection is chock full of holographic goodness with liberal dose of duochrome thrown in for good measure. At first, I didn’t know what to make of it. I kind of went, “Not so sure…”
However, Darling Diva Polish Queen Inspired Collection won me over. How? Well, first the formulas were fast drying and opaque in two coats. Secondly, it has some gorgeous duochrome. Thirdly, it has holo…what more can one ask for? If she had thrown in a thermal aspect, I’d faint. Really, I’d faint because it would be so much stimulation for my pea-sized brain.
The Queen Inspired Collection is available at Darling Diva Polish’s site. The descriptions are taken from there as well, except for We Will Rock You, which was taken from Sheila over at Pointless Cafe.
Just some information about the shots below — I shoot in RAW mode in my camera, meaning it is unprocessed; basically what you see is what you get. However, because I shoot with a Fuji, I rarely use the RAW images from my camera. Fuji is notoriously known for their true-to-life-colors in JPG images. So below, I’ve let you know which was the JPG shot and which is the RAW shot in some of the images. Why did I do that? Because the JPG image captured the color of the polish perfectly whereas the RAW image caught the holographic perfection as you would see it in person. WHEW! ok. Enough words there. Hope I made sense.
We Are the Champions – This awesome multichrome flashes gold to silver with a linear holographic finish
Flash – This lovely Flashes from red to gold and is also a linear holos
Bohemian Rhapsody – This silver to green (with some blue and purple at extreme angles) linear holographic polish is a must have.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love – This super multichromatic linear holo polish is truly spectacular. Most multichromatic polish can be finicky and not show all its colors, not this one. This polish will flash all its colors even in sunlight. This polish shifts from cyan through purple with hints of orange and yellow at extreme angles.
Killer Queen – This gorgeous multichrome has a blue to red shift with glimmers of orange, yellow, and violet. It can be opaque in 3 coats but the multichrome of course comes out best over black:)
We Will Rock You – This is a linear holographic color-shifting polish, is mainly blue, purple and golden copper
Since I’m horrible with words, I can just show you with pictures! This is an extremely image heavy post — you have been forewarned.
As always, please click on the image which will double in size…then click on the image again (it will triple in size!) to view the photo in its original size.
In this instance, this second photo is for the duo-chrome which came out to play.
.
JPG – no RAW needed here! It was perfect on its own.
Thank you for making it this far…Think you will be purchasing any of these colors? They are gorgeous!!!
Someone asked me why I don’t use a light box – I’ll be honest: I don’t think light boxes truly reflect what a color is like in real life. While I think a light box can get you prettier, edgier shots of a polish, I don’t think it’s very realistic. So while my images may not be as richly saturated with jewel tones or deep hues, you are getting a real-life look at the polish in action.
Thank you for making it this far. If you liked what you read, please share this – sharing is caring!
