I had some how ended up on the Ellagee site purely by mistake and when I laid my eyes on Ellagee Dia De Los Muertos, I knew I had to have it. This is her spin on her Halloween collection. Face it, Halloween can be a bit played out – orange and black and everyone doing their interpretation of what is Halloween glitter, etc.
Ellagee Dia De Los Muertos is different because she celebrates Day of the Dead, aka All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Ah, Catholicism and your far-reaching arms. However, born out of this very pagan, now Catholic, tradition has come some nail polish. That’s a good thing!
Ellagee Dia De Los Muertos was able to capture the colors and the spirit of Dia De Los Muertos. This collection is available until November 2, 2013, or (as I think) until she runs out.
I’m very happy with the two glitters and a black base with green shimmer. All of them dried within record time. I did two coats of the black polish and three coats each of the two glitters. Please pardon the bubbling – that came from my Gelous coats. I did two coats on the glitters to tame them and did not give them adequate time to dry between the coats. My bad!
As always, please click on the image which will double in size…then click on the image again (it will triple in size!) to view the photo in its original size. I will try to keep them in order as listed above.

Someone asked me why I don’t use a light box – I’ll be honest: I don’t think light boxes truly reflect what a color is like in real life. While I think a light box can get you prettier, edgier shots of a polish, I don’t think it’s very realistic. So while my images may not be as richly saturated with jewel tones or deep hues, you are getting a real-life look at the polish in action.
Thank you for making it this far. If you liked what you read, please share this – sharing is caring!
À bientôt!
