I can’t freehand. It’s drawing. I honestly can’t draw my way out of a paper bag nor can I do it if my life depended on it. I’ve never been artistically inclined in terms of drawing. However, give me some silver wire, sheets of silver, solder, torch or wax and I can create something out of raw material.
I had this awesome image in my head about geometric designs, blah blah blah…Ha, ha, ha more like it.
First, I don’t have a steady hand, so the lines aren’t straight. Second, on my middle finger, I have strong influences from the 80s and I have this mad love for ska, punk and reggae music. Ska will always have a huge soft spot in my heart. So I tried to do a bit of a black and white checkers kind of thing. Totes failed on that, but I thought I’d put it out there so you knew what I was trying to do. As for the others where it’s half a color and half another color…that was inspired and executed badly. Boo. On my pointer finger I wanted a triangle for some reason. I think it was mostly because I sucked at the others I kind of lost hope for it. Then it ended up looking awesome…in fact, it was my best looking nail. Who’da thunk?!
The colors I used was BB Couture’s Belle Starr – it’s a fabyoooolous purple creme with a faint shimmer that runs through it. I’ll be swatching it on its own soon because it is now officially my favorite purple. The holographic-ish color I used is a black holograph from Color Club’s nail art line.
