I am showing you my attempt at doing a week of Holographic polish…here are 2 polishes from China Glaze – Octa Gone Wild and QT
They started out with the Kaleidoscope collection, then they added the OMG 2B HOT and OMG 2BKEWL. 2BHOT was the warmer toned shades of the holographic collection, gorgeous yet failing thanks to my gimp skin tone. 2BKEWL was the cooler colors and they looked great on me. I have all the colors of 2BHOT and 2BKEWL, but am missing half of the colors for the Kaleidoscope collection – boooooo.
Today’s offering is from the 2B KEWL collection:
I went home and compared the 2 and discovered that I did not have the HTF version of that color. After much picture taking from every angle in daylight, shade and flash I gave up. To cheer myself up, I decided to compare two holographic polishes from two lines: Ginger & Liz (whom I have so much love for) and Color Club.
I know my red is late…it’s very late. I hate it when I’m behind, but I was all over the freeways today. Mostly driving from here to Pleasanton to go to a Gem Faire. It was meh. I’ve been to much better and I wish that my gem guys had been there. I found a new vendor and yay for me!
Anyway, the color I present for this Friday’s red is a bit gorgeous, if a bit moody to work with.
When we hit the one year mark here in California last October, something in me went, “We’ll be moving to another state or country soon! I just know it.” Maybe now I’ve jinxed myself. I don’t know. For now, I’m enjoying being back in the Bay Area…even with the humidity that makes my hair cuurrrrrl. Ugh. We almost did move after landing so soon again back in California. We thought Texas (Austin!) was on the horizon. It didn’t pan out and I was a bit saddened, to be honest.
NERD ALERT – I REPEAT, NERD ALERT!!
I know I didn’t post anything on Wednesday. I honestly had every intention of doing so, but I got distracted by a game Mr Carinae brought home the night before. It’s called Dragon Age 2. I’m not a big RPG player on a console. I’m an MMORPG kind of girl, but an old school MMORPG – EverQuest. Yea, I went there. It’s how I roll. I played the beta on FB for Dragon Age Legends because…well, Mr Carinae persuaded me to. Got my beta key and was on my way. So anyway, it’s how I got into playing DA2. I’m fumbling with the console for the xBox because I’m so used to gaming on my PC. I will stop with my nerdy self now before I really bore you all with my totally useless knowledge.
My friend who does Weight Watchers gave me some news about these cookies – they’re worth 2 points each. She was happy because these give her her sweet tooth craving and the shot of mint she loves. She’s notoriously cray cray in March for the mint shakes. I used to think she was nuts until I had a mint shake from a fast food restaurant that I shall not name (McDonald’s) years ago. Now I think it best for me to stay far, far away because if I let myself that would be breakfast, lunch and dinner for me. I’d probably have to throw in a large fries with that. So it’s best that I pretend they’ve discontinued those Shamrock Shakes and go on about my merry way.
However, there is something about March – I’ll give her that…and in this particular instance of March, I was craving some GS Thin Mints something fierce. I finally bit the bullet and said I was going to tweak some recipes to get that Thin Mint action going on.
My supa secret ingredient to bring the mint on? Andes Mints. Yea, baby. I’ve never been a fan of those thin mints, but they work here. I think you will have to agree with me on this.
I’ve included the recipe at the bottom of the picture!
