MAC Cosmetics – Rain of Flowers
Thursday, 30 September, 2010Anyway, this color was so promising in the bottle. But in the back of my mind, I kept hearing, “OPI did it better with Russian Navy…OPI did it better with Russian Navy…” And ya know what? OPI did it better with Russian Navy.
The one thing that MAC got right over OPI was the formula. It wasn’t a pain to deal with. If anything, it made me really sad because the formula was so wonderful while the color itself was kind of…meh and uninspiring.
From far away (and at night) the color looks like a dark creme. Even in fairly direct lighting, it still looks like a dark creme. Heck, even in my pictures it looks like a dark creme that had some glitter spilled into it purely by accident.
Please overlook the tip wear – it’s going on…day three (I believe) in the picture.
Nubar – Hyacinth Sparkle – Spring 2010
Friday, 21 May, 2010Hope you all have a good one!
This color really made me smile. It’s such a thick, dense glitter. I know it’s going to be a pain to remove from both hands, but I don’t care! Super pretty and in the sunlight? Oh baby! Tons of fire and sparkle. Lots of dizzying moments because I couldn’t stop staring at my fingers.
Zoya – Alegra – Sparkle Collection, summer 2010
Wednesday, 19 May, 2010NFU Oh #59
Wednesday, 21 April, 2010This color is truly something that you’ve got to see to believe. The pictures don’t even do it justice. First off, it’s a deeper, darker color in person. Second, it really sparkles and pops, if you get the chance to see it firsthand. I am tempted to say this almost outshines #51 and #52, not quite but it really does give the two colors a good run for their money.
Look at the flashes of orange and green glitter!
Unfortunately, the sunlight totally washed out the shot, but I was also working with limited time, too. It was about to start raining and it was an extremely brief patch of sun. The shade shot definitely got the best of the two!
Zoya – Ivanka – Sparkle Collection – Summer 2010

My pointer finger and middle finger really capture what Ivanka’s all about. The color and pop is always ON. It never stops and it lasted for a good week. The *only* chipping I had was on my right hand’s index finger…and it’s only because I filed my nail down. Other than that, wear was excellent!
Sunlight washed it out and showed my deficiencies in nail polish application. 😀 Nonetheless, one color I’m going to get a back-up of because I get the feeling I’m going to be wearing this a lot during the summer – either on my toes or on my nails when I’m not swatching.
