Butter London – No More Waity, Katie
Tuesday, 5 April, 2011However, that does not pertain to nail polish – I know! Recently a friend of mine found 3 bottles of Revlon’s Perplex at Big Lots! So I now have Perplex to compare against Paradoxal and another color with a CND nail effect on top of it. YAY! Slowly but surely coming back to the polish love. I’ve also got 15 Zoya colors coming in and I still need to swatch the Intimate collection. Too much for a gal to do, in addition to doing taxes and the crazy job search…plus, little Rex had 2 seizures yesterday. Inherent to his breed (he’s a Cavalier King Charles spaniel), but still scary to see. He does bring lots of joy into my life and he’s my little guy. I’d be so heartbroken if anything bad happened to him.
I ramble. I’m sorry. Check out the pictures and review of this polish after the jump.
American Apparel – Dynasty

Hah. So now I’m really showing my age. The 80s were marked with big hair, bad eye make-up and this very odd obsession with purple. I remember seeing so many hues of purple that I honestly thought I was just going to die a purple death. Then, just when I thought I was in the clear, along came the 90s with that f***ing awful purple THING called Barney. I have never hated the color purple so much. I actually banned myself from ever wearing purple until very recently…
Terribly irrational, I know. It’s just how I am.
China Glaze – Sour Apple and Electric Lilac
Thursday, 1 April, 2010Surprise~ April Fool! Only fool here was me thinking these colors would rock it on my nail. Only saving grace for these? They dried quickly.
Yea. Hm. With a name like Electric Lilac, I expect you to be electric. And lilac. I wouldn’t quite call this lilac. I would venture to call this a light purple. Glitter was ok on it, but this wasn’t worth the few dollars I shelled out for it. Maybe I didn’t shake it enough. Nah, I know I did. This was the color at 3 coats. I wasn’t in the mood to go for 4.
When I put this on, I kept thinking, “Wow…delayed St. Patrick’s Day for me.” Flecks of green and gold glitter suspended in a not quite neon green jelly base. I think I’m getting too old and fussy for certain types of glitter. I can accept that. This didn’t wow me.
Random Essie Swatches
Thursday, 4 March, 2010I thought I was gonna love this color when I put it on me. Nerp. Nope. Didn’t like it one bit…NOT ONE BIT. It almost looks like I’ve got skittles on my fingers, doesn’t it? LOL
Not a bad shade of a pastel. It’s not too obnoxious, but it will do. 🙂 At least it doesn’t look like Skittles. 😀
This is my favorite of the three. I guess when it comes down to it, I like purple – even if it’s lavender.
China Glaze – Holgraphics – Mix of OMG and Kaleidoscope Collection
Thursday, 25 February, 2010I went to my least favorite nail place in Mesa, AZ, a few weeks ago and on whim I checked to see if the guy carried any of the OMG/Kaleidoscope line – imagine my surprise when I found Octa Gone Wild – one of the more difficult of the Kaleidoscope colors to find. Well, it’s been difficult for *me* to find. I bit the bullet and paid his price of *weeps* $6 – there went my lunch money.
I found the biggest difference between the Kaleidoscope and OMG line is that the OMG line’s holographic nature is far more prevalent than in Kaleidoscope. K is more subtle. OMG is all bling blang in your face LOOK AT ME! kind of thing. Application was a bit difficult at first because Nubar’s Reclaim had me mega spoiled in terms of coverage and flow. CG’s formula is one that dries super quick so you have to know what you’re doing or hope you can make up for it in the 2nd coat. Hope I am making sense.
Anyway, here is Octa Gone Wild and some others of the OMG line I was able to procure.
